Senior Dating | Date Ideas For Senior Couples

December 15, 2013

The Dating Scene For Seniors

Finding the right place for a good date that appeals to seniors can be a difficult task.  The modern dance club is hardly senior-friendly, and at-home dates are often too dull to really get the fire started.  But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t the perfect location to get to know another.

Senior Dating | Winning Location Ideas

So where do you take your new lady or gentleman friend for a date?  Here are a few ideas to get you started:
  • Go Dancing : Avoid dance clubs and find a local ballroom dance club.  Take a few lessons together if you’re rusty and see just how much chemistry there is between you.
  • Have A Picnic : Picnics are a classical and classy date idea, find a nice spot in your local park, spread a blanket, and enjoy the conversation on a sunny day.
  • Take A Walk : Never underestimate the power of an intimate stroll around town to inspire a lasting relationship.
  • Play A Sport : Do you and your love interest enjoy tennis?  Golf?  A little healthy competition in a budding relationship can help seal your feelings for one another.
  • Visit Your Local Gallery : Take a tour of the local art museum.  You’d be surprised how much you can learn about someone based on nothing more than their taste in art.
  • Get Out On The Water : Rent a rowboat or paddleboat and get out on the lake.  Commune with nature and get away to spend some time together.
  • Embrace The Book : If you both enjoy books attend a reading at a local bookstore.  Afterward, you can share your interests by browsing through the shelves together.

These ideas should be enough to get a good start on a lasting relationship.  After a couple of dates you should know enough about each other that you can make your own date plans.

Never Let Your Nurse Stand In The Way

Even if you are need of help from an in-home nursing staff, that’s no reason to stay cooped up in the house.  At Home Matters, we understand that each of our clients should be free from the strict schedules and policies of some nursing staffs in order to pursue their hobbies, interests, and of course, romance.
