When you invite someone into your home to care for the person you love most, you’re placing an incredible amount of trust in them. We believe that trust should never be taken for granted.

For us, caregiving is deeply personal.

For Aurora, caregiving has been part of her life since childhood. For more than a decade, she watched her grandmother navigate serious health challenges, including Alzheimer’s, that eventually made it unsafe for her to be left alone. Her family relied on a live-in caregiver, and Aurora saw firsthand not only the difference trusted care made in her grandmother’s life, but also the tremendous responsibility her mother carried while caring for someone she loved.

Years later, when Aurora became a caregiver and advocate for her own father during his battle with cancer, she understood that responsibility in an entirely new way. Those experiences shaped her belief that exceptional home care isn’t only about supporting the person receiving care-it’s also about giving families the reassurance, support, and peace of mind they need along the way.

For Hans, that purpose was strengthened while supporting his mother through her own battle with cancer. With a background in pre-med studies and an RCFE Administrator certification, Hans brings both personal experience and an understanding of the clinical and operational side of senior care.

Together, these experiences led us to open Home Matters Caregiving Orange Coast-a locally owned and family-operated agency built around the kind of care we would want for our own family.

We remain personally involved with our clients and caregivers. We take the time to understand each client’s needs, routines, preferences, and personality, and thoughtfully match caregivers based on experience, care needs, and compatibility. Because we believe the relationship matters just as much as the care itself.

To us, home care is about more than assistance with daily tasks. It’s about preserving independence, honoring dignity, creating meaningful relationships, and giving families confidence that someone they trust is there when they can’t be.
