James Sauer, Owner
With over 35 years dedicated to honing my skills in customer engagement, team development, and business management, I was eager to explore new opportunities, which led me to Home Matters in 2024.
My sister, a long-time professional in the home care industry, introduced me to the vital sector of in-home senior care, specifically highlighting Home Matters Elderly Care. After thorough research and planning, I was inspired to bring this exceptional service to Washington state and proudly launched its first Home Matters franchise in Pierce County.
Being part of Home Matters is truly fulfilling. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that our work directly enhances the lives of individuals by enabling them to remain in their own homes longer, thereby supporting their independence and overall well-being.
On a more personal note, I’m a husband and father. My wife and I have been together since high school. We navigated the early years of our marriage as young parents while pursuing our education and building our careers. We are now proud parents of four wonderful adult children. Our family has been truly blessed.
In 2001, our daughter Rylan was born with special needs. Caring and raising her has been an incredibly enriching experience, teaching us invaluable lessons.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with family and friends, whether we’re kayaking or paddle boarding on the water or hiking and biking on the trails. I’m also an avid fisherman and appreciate the power of the ocean and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest rivers.
As the owner of this Home Matters franchise, my primary goal is to drive continuous growth through Servant Leadership, delivering exceptional customer service, and fostering strong team engagement. This approach will enable us to serve a greater number of seniors and generate more employment opportunities for our dedicated caregivers.
Eileen Bhagwandeen, Administrator
I am proud to serve as an Administrator with Home Matters Caregiving in Pierce Co, bringing more than 25 years of healthcare experience through both direct care and administrative leadership roles. Throughout my career, I have remained passionate about providing exceptional care while helping individuals maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life to the fullest extent possible.
Healthcare has always been more than a career for me — it is truly my calling. I cannot imagine doing anything outside of serving others and supporting the people who care for them. One of my greatest joys is leading and mentoring a team of compassionate caregivers and healthcare professionals, encouraging them to grow, thrive, and become the very best versions of themselves.
After moving to Washington in 2019 with just my cat, dog, and a dream, I quickly fell in love with the beauty of the mountains and the Pacific Northwest lifestyle. Outside of work, you can often find me hiking local trails with my Chihuahua or exploring rivers and streams in search of unique rocks and hidden treasures.
I am incredibly excited for this new adventure and grateful for the opportunity to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of others and the families we serve.
April Lofton, Lead Caregiver
When it comes to senior care, experience matters—and April Lofton brings more than 25 years of it to her role as Lead Caregiver at Home Matters Caregiving. April’s deep industry knowledge and nurturing spirit make her uniquely qualified to lead our care team and oversee our clients’ well-being. She has spent her career proving that exceptional care requires a blend of professional excellence and genuine, family-like connection.
April’s balanced approach to life is reflected in her personal interests. A true outdoor enthusiast, she loves spending time in nature and hitting local hiking trails. She is also a passionate cook, a big animal lover, and an avid reader who cherishes quiet moments with a book. Above all, April loves spending quality time with her family. Her decades of experience mean your loved one is in the safest, most capable hands, while her warm personality ensures they feel truly cared for.
Peris Njaramba, Registered Nurse
Dedicated nurse with 36 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in nurse delegation and medical-surgical departments. Passionate about providing compassionate care, mentoring others, and supporting patients and families through every stage of care.
A proud wife and parent to three beautiful children, I value faith, family, and service to the community. In my spare time, I enjoy participating in church-related community service, walking and hiking outdoors, and spending quality time with my grandchildren.
Kevin Hansen, Registered Nurse
I have been working as a Registered Nurse for ten years, balancing my healthcare career with raising my three young children. Outside of work, I focus on spending quality time with my family, reading, and enjoying outdoor activities.
