This month’s client spotlight is on Gloria Austin!
Gloria was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, where she has lived her entire life. She attended the University of Portland, majoring in education, and taught first grade for eight years until she became pregnant with her first child. Gloria has two children, Jay and Christina. She met her husband, Larry, on a blind date arranged by his sister. Gloria and Larry were married for 39 years before his passing.
One of Gloria’s favorite childhood memories is visiting Oaks Park during the summer. She fondly recalls having picnics, riding the rides, and spending quality time with her family. In her free time, Gloria enjoys doing puzzles with friends, playing and teaching mahjong, and she previously spent a lot of time sewing. Her favorite holiday is a tie between Thanksgiving and Christmas, as she loves the festive atmosphere and the time spent with loved ones.
Gloria’s hope for the younger generation is that they do their best in life and make time for their families as often as possible. Her favorite thing about working with HMC is meeting the caregivers and knowing that they are always there to help her whenever she needs support.
