Clayton Foutch, Founder and CRO
Clay Foutch has been serving the senior population in the Portland Metropolitan area since founding the company in 2007. Clay’s “why” starts with the pride in building a team to carry out the mission of Home Matters locally and to create entrepreneurial opportunities for future Home Matters business owners across the US. Our mission is to provide exceptional nurse guided care to the aging population, and to do so with the most clinically competent team in the market allowing us to serve both our clients and the professional caregivers that carry out the most important position within our company, caregiving. Clay feels strongly that the best way to serve his clients is by providing In-Home Care with the utmost respect and competence allowing his clients to remain in their home safely and independently for as long as possible.
Outside of Home Matters, Clay has advocated and served the senior community through his work as a board member for the Alzheimer’s Association SW Washington Chapter along with The Metropolitan Senior Network. Clay now serves as a board member with Stepping Up For Seniors, an organization that serves seniors that fall below the poverty line. He volunteers as a committee member for Beaverton’s Committee on Aging whose purpose is to discover and examine the issues and concerns of the aging population in the City of Beaverton. Nationally, Clay is committed to the Home Care Association of America as an Innovation Committee member with the purpose of leveraging technology and innovation to improve the lives of aging adults.
Christina Foutch, OTR Owner
Christina Foutch has been serving people with disabilities and the aging population since earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University in 2001. Christina’s focus in Alzheimer’s dementia and physical disabilities allows her clients and caregivers an unmatched resource for the senior community. She is skilled in the areas of transfer and mobility training, behavior modification techniques, and adaptive equipment allowing increased independence, mobility and safety in the home for her clients.
Starting Home Matters Caregiving in 2007, Christina has utilized her skills to better train our professional caregivers and care for our clients. Christina is certified by the Alzheimer’s Association to teach their courses, curriculums and has spoken at the McGinty Conference. Christina wants to give the aging population the option and opportunity to age in place and advocate for those who can’t advocate for themselves.
Heidi Rowell, Executive Director
Heidi Rowell has dedicated her career to caring for the aging population. She first began working with seniors in 1999 as a CNA. It was during this time that Heidi realized her passion for working with people and families living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia. She believes that all seniors deserve to receive high-quality care in their own homes and is proud to make that possible through her work with Home Matters. Heidi sees her most important role as that of a mentor to our management and caregiving team, providing the leadership and guidance they need to provide the highest quality care to our clients.
In addition to the leadership, she provides to our local team, Heidi is also an integral part of the Home Matters corporate team, sharing her expertise with new franchise owners, to spread the Home Matters mission. Heidi holds a bachelor’s degree in management and organizational leadership and healthcare administration from George Fox University. She believes in the Home Matters mission of doing well by doing good, and volunteers for the Alzheimer’s Association, and serves on the board of Stepping up for Seniors.
Martha Sorensen, After Hours Manager
Martha Sorensen brings over 15 years of experience working with seniors to her role as After-Hours Manager at Home Matters Caregiving. Her background as a caregiver gives her unique insight and empathy when supporting team members—she knows exactly what they need because she’s been in their shoes. Martha’s lifelong dedication to helping others began in the field of special education before transitioning to senior care. Outside of work, she enjoys a full and active family life with her husband, children, two grandchildren, and two dogs.
