Our client spotlight for February is Doug Swanson!
Doug was born in the farm country of Illinois along the Mississippi. His first childhood memory is from when he was around 3 years old sitting in the backseat of his parents station wagon on a long road trip to Florida for a family vacation. He has lived all over the world, but spent the most time in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. He was married for about 54 years, and has two daughters, Nina and Maren, who are both world travelers as well.
Doug’s favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because the family is all together eating good food. His favorite hobby is fly fishing, he states he once caught over 100 fish in one day. Doug recalls it being really funny when he would hook a smaller fish, then yank the line to set the hook, and the fish would fly through the air into the cow field behind him.
Doug wants to pass awareness of what’s going on in the wider world to the younger generations. He feels it’s important to know what is going on in the rest of the world, and not just in our country. He was a CPA and business advisor who traveled to many other countries meeting some really important people and learning about their homes.
Doug likes working with HMC because of the personal contact. Not only for the health care aspect, but for the companionship and friendship with the staff. He says we keep him in good company and always know when something is wrong and get him the right care promptly.
