Our client spotlight for April is Barbara Lewis!
Barbara was born in 1939, in Maryland where she lived for 85 years. She was married to her late husband Joe for 43 years. She has one son, and a wonderful daughter-in-law. She likes to dance and swim, and anything to do with fitness and nutrition.
When she was six she went to camp in the Adirondack Mountains for six weeks where she learned to be without electricity and learn about the wilderness. When she was very young she spent a lot of time in the hospital after contracting rheumatic fever, that is her earliest childhood memory. Her favorite holiday is any Jewish holiday, she loves them all equally so it’s hard to pick a favorite.
She wishes to pass on the wisdom of being observant and kind to all sorts of people; young, medium, or old.
She and her dog Precious have lived here in Portland just one short month, and HMC has helped her feel right at home. She likes working with HMC because the caregivers are all very pleasant and kind, she feels as if they are her friends, and we are!
