For those of us who have devoted our careers to serving older adults we know the holiday season can bring unique challenges. Family members who aren’t able to visit frequently are often seeing their loved one for the first time all year. These visiting family members may be alarmed at the decline in their loved one’s condition, and begin to seek help.

At Home Matters Caregiving, we know it can be challenging to find the help that families need during the holiday season. We have increased our pool of available professional caregivers in anticipation of the increased need this time of year, and our team of aging experts is ready to work with families in need to provide peace of mind.

In addition to our hands-on care, we have our virtual assessment technology available, and are now able to offer this as a standalone option for those families who may not need a caregiver, but need additional support in order to remain in their home safely. This technology allows us to monitor changes in condition including difficulty performing ADLs, lack of socialization, potential fall risk, potential UTI and more. In addition to the proactive capabilities offered by our virtual assessment technology, we are also able to monitor for more urgent issues such as a fall or cry for help.
