Client Spotlight – Sandra Wagenius

Sandra was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1935 and grew up in Minneapolis, where she spent most of her life. One of her favorite childhood memories is traveling to Montreal to visit her grandparents—a trip she still remembers fondly.

Sandra has been married to her husband, Sevard, for 69 wonderful years. Together, they have five children—three daughters and two sons. Easter is her favorite holiday, as she considers it the most meaningful and important celebration in the Christian faith. In her free time, Sandra enjoys wood and chip carving, a hobby that reflects her patience and creativity.

The wisdom Sandra hopes to share with the younger generation is simple but powerful: stay connected with your parents and extended family, and nurture strong, lasting friendships. Sandra and Sevard enjoy working with Home Matters Caregiving because they feel the team truly cares in a personal way and shows genuine compassion for all the clients and residents at Courtyard.
