Katherine Epstein was born on Christmas day in Portland, Oregon in 1932. She grew up in Forest Grove, and has lived in Oregon for most of her life. Katherine says Christmas is her favorite time of year because it’s a happy time full of joy and gifts, and of course her birthday. Katherine and her husband Don have two children, who they are very proud of. Katherine takes great joy in attending church and her faith is very important to her. Her advice for younger generations is that it’s important not to be selfish. Katherine says she enjoys working with Home Matters, because the staff always try to do the right thing. Caregivers who work with Katherine always report that she is so sweet and grateful for their care. She always shows her appreciation for others and is a truly kind person.
