Home Matters Caregiving Brings Healthy Aging Seminar to Milpitas
Aging well means more than responding to health concerns as they arise. It also means preparing for transitions, understanding available resources, embracing helpful technology, and making informed financial decisions that support independence at home.
To help local older adults and their families navigate these important topics, Home Matters Caregiving is hosting Healthy Aging Seminar II at the Barbara Lee Senior Center in Milpitas. This free community event will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
With the theme “Stay Healthy. Stay Independent. Stay Home,” the seminar will bring together local leaders, healthcare professionals, aging specialists, and financial professionals for a morning of practical education and community connection.

Practical Guidance for Aging at Home
The seminar is designed for older adults, family caregivers, and community professionals who want to better understand the health, care, technology, and financial considerations involved in aging at home.
Presentations will address several timely questions:
- What are some of the major reasons older adults end up in the emergency room?
- Why are the first 30 days after hospitalization so important?
- How can technology support more proactive care?
- What financial strategies and community resources may help make aging in place more affordable?
The morning will conclude with a panel discussion focused on one of the most important questions facing older adults and their families: How can I afford aging in place?
Attendees will have an opportunity to hear perspectives from professionals representing home care, home health, nursing, financial services, insurance, and reverse mortgages.
