May Client Spotlight

May 28, 2024
Shirley Hastik

Our May Client Spotlight shines on Mrs. Shirley Hastik, a cherished member of the Home Matters community!

Born in Lufkin, Texas, Shirley moved to Houston where she has spent the majority of her life. With a passion for fashion designing, she once owned a clothing store called Leslie Fashion for over 16 years. Through her boutique, Shirley had the remarkable opportunity to style the wives of astronauts and real estate executives during their visits to Texas.

Shirley has been happily married for 67 years, having tied the knot in 1957. She and her husband are proud parents to their daughter, Karen, whom Shirley adores immensely. Family is clearly central to Shirley’s life, especially during her favorite holiday, Christmas. She cherishes the season for its ability to bring her large family together, a time when she enjoys decorating and sharing in the festive spirit.

Reflecting on her life, Shirley holds many fond childhood memories from her time in both Lufkin and Houston. If she were to offer advice to the younger generation, it would simply be to “have more fun.”

What Shirley values most about Home Matters is the warmth and friendliness of the staff, describing our service as a “blessing to her family.” Her experience underscores the impact of compassionate care and the deep connections it fosters within our community.
