September Client Spotlight – Marge Harding

Marge Harding, September Client Spotlight
Marge was born in 1941 in Couer d’Alene, Idaho. She grew up mostly in Idaho, and then moved to Oakland, California with her family for a brief time so her father could study ministry. Marge’s first childhood memory is having a horse and growing up in Couer d’Alene, just a beautiful place to live. Her favorite holiday is Christmas because it’s her birthday month, and getting to decorate with family and entertaining their friends. Marge and her husband Rolla have been married 60 years. They met in college, at Linfield, while working in the commons kitchen together. They were married not long after meeting and lived in a little house off campus their senior year. Marge and Rolla have two daughters, the oldest is Kristen who has two sons, and Stephanie who has three sons. Marge’s hobbies have been sewing since she was a little girl, she has been a seamstress almost her whole life. She taught home economics, and also made clothing for civil war reenactments that she and Rolla performed in throughout their lives. She loves anything civil war history related, and collecting period dresses and pieces, her favorite being the 1860’s. The wisdom Marge and Rolla would like to pass on to younger generations is kindness and understanding. “Your success is based on the goodness you’ve shown others.” Marge and Rolla like working with HMC because of how flexible and wonderful the team and caregivers are. “We respect our caregivers and appreciate them. Sydni has been so wonderful and kind to work with, always answering our calls and questions.”
